2020 has been a year. We have gone from jokes about world war 3, Australian fires, Covid-19, to the black lives matter movement. After all the things that have happen, I did not expect to hear the news about the Trump administration and international students.

The Trump administration and ICE were trying to pass a plan, that stated that if an international student isn’t taking at least one in person classes in the fall that they were supposed to go back home. If this plan had been passed so many international students were going to be sent home. This is not fair on many different levels, the main one being that these students don’t have any fault in what is currently happening and have a heighten the risk of spreading Covid by going back home.

According to the Washington post, they have decided against this plan but still I don’t think it should have been an option in the first place. I don’t actually know how it must have for the international students because I am not one, but it must have been a scary experience to even have heard of it. Most of them must have been in a panicked after hearing this.

If I’m being honest, I didn’t even know that this was happening until I searched up news about education. I feel like it a pretty big deal that not a lot of people knew about. So, from now on I am going to focus on keeping up with news like this and sharing it to my different platforms, so others are informed as well. I’m glad that it didn’t pass and hope the international students aren’t feeling too bad about it.
