Ever since I was little I would always observe and listen to others about their lives, that it got to the point were everyone would tell me what a good counselor I would be. I always liked listening to others and decided to try taking some psychology classes when I started College. I loved the course and learning more about the subject but something always felt off. Was I doing this for myself because I liked the subject or to please others? I decided to move forward because I though I wanted to do something with psychology but as time went on I started to feel more hesitant to continue and my psych classes started feeling like a chore that was until winter quarter of my junior year when I had decided to do my business minor.

When I started my minor I had randomly chose to take a class called intercultural communications. This was the class that changed my education goal. I had gone from not wanting to go to class everyday to being the first one there. I feel in love with the subject the more classes I took. I’m currently only a psychology major but I hope to be accepted into the communications major and graduate spring 2021 from CWU.

I feel like I was somewhat pressured into my psychology major but I’m also very thankful for all the things I learned through taking these course as they have helped me in my communications classes as well. I hope in the future I can find a job that uses both subject as they are both amazing majors to have.
